Noel works with individuals, couples and families and is LGBTQ friendly.
Noel works with children as young as 10 all the way to the end-of-life stage. The child needs to be able to express his or her feelings, which sometimes allows for a child as young as 8 y/o to benefit from Noel’s counseling. Please note that Noel ascribes to family systems theory where a child’s behavior is part of a larger picture, often requiring some family therapy.
The short answer is yes; however, this depends on how well all the participants can honor the boundaries. It does require the therapist to be very cognizant of the dynamics and level of trust that can be achieved.
Some people are looking for a temporary bridge to navigate a particular issue, while others prefer to maintain an ongoing therapeutic relationship that potentially can last for several years. There is no minimum or limitation to the length of involvement and the client always makes the call on when to stop.
Evidence indicates that it does. What is missing is the subtleties of communication, but that can be accommodated effectively. When one can participate either way, in-person is recommended. If distance or one’s schedule results in the need for telehealth, Noel will work with you to conduct an online session.
Insurance companies do require there to be a primary diagnosis. With private pay one does not require a diagnosis.
